OUR HISTORY

In 1967, Mr. Edward Ibrahim Hanania established his first solar heating manufacturing plant in Bethlehem.

 In 1973, he established the business of solar water heating systems in Jordan. Since then, the family name HANANIA excelled in the solar business and became the biggest manufacturer in the region.

​ In 1980, His Majesty Late King Hussein Bin Talal visited HANANIA Solar and experienced the wide range of products developed by HANANIA including producing electricity from the sun.  

 

Now, Hanania Investment Group continues the family legacy as a distinguished leader in the solar energy industry.

Lead by Mr. Ziad Edward Hanania, the company continues to expand its reach in the MENA region and beyond.

As reported by Al-Rai newspaper on 9/12/1978, HRH Prince Hassan Bin Talal inaugurated the first solar exhibition in Jordan, an event organized and led by Mr. Edward Ibrahim Hanania—the visionary pioneer who established the foundation of the solar energy industry in the country.

According to Al-Rai newspaper dated 22/3/1980, a press release highlighted the ongoing projects and advancements in solar energy across Jordan, noting the leadership and contributions of Mr. Edward Ibrahim Hanania, the general manager of the HANANIA solar business.

His Majesty the Late King Hussein was warmly welcomed to the exhibition, where he explored HANANIA’s pioneering solar energy projects and innovations, reflecting the company’s leadership in advancing renewable energy in Jordan.

During the visit, Mr. Edward Ibrahim Hanania presented HANANIA’s photovoltaic (PV) solar electricity system to His Majesty the Late King Hussein, highlighting the company’s pioneering role and technological innovations in the field of renewable energy in Jordan.

During the exhibition, Mr. Edward Ibrahim Hanania provided a detailed explanation to His Majesty the Late King Hussein of how solar energy systems operate, demonstrating his deep knowledge and commitment to promoting sustainable energy solutions in Jordan.

In addition to demonstrating the photovoltaic system, Mr. Edward Ibrahim Hanania showcased HANANIA’s full range of innovative products and solar energy systems to His Majesty the Late King Hussein, emphasizing the company’s broad capabilities and leadership in advancing renewable energy solutions in Jordan.
